About Cassie

Cassie Bollinger completed her Unified Yoga 200-Hour Teacher Training Immersion with Jagadisha Peter Petrovic and her Yin Yoga Training Immersion with Jacquie Ruderman. A trained ballet dancer, Cassie has practiced many types of yoga for the past 20 years, Hot 26X2 and Yin for the last 5 years. She finds the moving meditation of a Hot 26X2 practice powerful and invigorating.

When so much in life is changing, Cassie believes coming to the mat each day to practice the same sequence of 26 postures – and even more importantly, the moments of stillness between each posture – keeps her grounded, focused and healthy.

The “slow medicine” of a Yin Yoga class is the perfect balance to the vigorous Hot 26X2 practice. The purpose of Yin is to travel deeply within the body (the muscles, fascia, joints, energy channels) as well as the mind — to make space for the free flow of energy, to bring healthy synovial fluid and hydration to the major joints of the body, and to give the mind a pause in the unrelenting pace of our busy lives.

Cassie is a freelance writer and copyeditor, who has lived with her husband and four kids in Montclair since 1996, with a brief two-year relocation to the South Bay area in CA, where she continued to practice yoga and meditation in Los Gatos and San Jose, from 2011 to 2013. When not practicing or teaching yoga, Cassie can be seen walking her three dogs (Simone, Daffodil, and Bo) around town.
