      <image:caption>Cassie Bollinger is a certified Hot Yoga (Bikram 26X2), Yin Yoga, and Restorative Yoga instructor. She completed her Unified Yoga 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training with Jagadisha Peter Petrovic and her Yin Yoga Training I (45 hours in 2019) and II (60 hours in 2024) with Jacquie Ruderman. Recently, she earned her Restorative Yoga Teacher Training Certification (108 hours in 2024) with Jillian Pransky. A trained ballet dancer, Cassie has practiced many types of yoga over the past 20 years, and began teaching in 2020. She finds the moving meditation of a Hot 26X2 practice powerful and invigorating. When so much in life is changing, Cassie believes coming to the mat each day to practice the same sequence of 26 postures – and even more importantly, the moments of stillness between each posture – keeps her grounded, focused and healthy.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Like a slow medicine, Yin Yoga is a slow-moving meditation that focuses on the the deep connective tissues and joints of the body. You will move through most of the postures either seated or lying down on your yoga mat. The playlists I prepare for classes (accessed via Spotify: “Cassandra Bollinger”) provide a quiet, soothing accompaniment to your experience. Practicing this type of yoga will help you find space in your body and mind…a perfect antidote to the physical and mental stresses of life. What you’ll need for class: Yoga mat 2 yoga blocks - cork or foam (or 2 stacks of books) - on which to rest/support parts of your body in some postures 2 Yoga Blankets (or any kind of throw blankets or large bath/beach towels) Bolster (or firm bed/couch pillow wrapped in blanket or towel) to support the body, arms or legs for some postures Device to play the prepared Spotify playlist or a low-blowing fan for white noise — or maybe you just prefer silence as background while I guide you through the postures with my voice Water to sip</image:caption>

      <image:title>Yin Yoga Classes - “Hot” 26X2</image:title>
      <image:caption>This yoga class is a moving meditation based on the Bikram series of 26 postures, practiced in two sets, in a heated studio, for 90 minutes. I teach a slightly condensed version that lasts for approximately 75 minutes. Though rigorous, this class is meant for ALL levels, from the more experienced practitioner to the beginner. What you’ll need for class: Yoga mat Yoga mat towel or hand towel in case you sweat Water to sip Helpful hints: Since we can’t practice in a heated studio due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, I recommend trying to take a hot shower before class to loosen up your muscles. You might wear layers of yoga clothing that can be peeled off as you begin to warm up. If you have a space heater and humidifier to bring heat and humidity into your yoga space, so much the better. The “Hot” 26X2 class is usually practiced in a room heated to 106 degrees, but these days most practitioners are just trying to get the heat and humidity up in their space as much as they can — so their muscles are more pliable as they mindfully move through the 26 postures. For those who have large enough bathrooms, some have even gone so far as to turn their bathrooms into their mini yoga studios, using the steam and humidity created from a shower to provide the perfect climate for a heated Hot 26X2 class. Finally, make sure you are hydrated before class to prevent cramping muscles and dizziness.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>I have been a devoted fan of Julie Margolis’ yoga teaching from my early days as a yoga student. Julie’s cues in her vinyasa sequences are clear and nuanced. With her careful guidance, I never feel at risk of injury while flowing from one posture to the next. Her sequencing is incremental, growing and heightening in tandem with her students’ bodies as they warm and expand during the practice. Julie also builds beautifully curated playlists to accompany her mindful flows — simply the best song compilations I’ve heard throughout my years as a yoga student. Should there be unexpected rain, strong winds, or temperatures below 50 degrees, the outdoor class will be cancelled. Please wear layers of loose clothing, including socks (preferably with grip on sock bottoms) that you can peel off as your muscles begin to warm up. Bring a yoga mat, a towel to spread out on your mat, water to sip, and maybe sunblock. The most important thing is to come together as a community OUTSIDE for as long as we can until cold winter weather sets in!
